This week’s guest: Elaine Maag, Principal Research Associate at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center

The Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center (TPC) is holding a series of online conversations on policy responses to the COVID-19 economy. The discussions take place every other Thursday afternoon and feature varying perspectives on the historic economic challenges faced by the United States and the world and the best ways to address them. 

This week’s guest is Elaine Maag (@ElaineMaag), a principal research associate at the Tax Policy Center. She specializes in income support programs for people with low incomes and is among the nation’s leading experts in using the tax code to assist these households. She’ll be discussing the major changes in the Child Tax Credit and other provisions included in the American Rescue Plan Act recently signed by President Biden.  

She’ll talk with TPC senior fellow Howard Gleckman (@howard_gleckman) about  pandemic relief and overall US economic policy.
