This week's guest is Lisa Zarlenga, who will discuss taxation of cryptocurrency. A partner at the law firm Steptoe & Johnson, Zarlenga will explain the controversial tax compliance rules for cryptocurrency investors and platforms included in the bipartisan infrastructure package recently passed by the Senate. Though gains earned from cryptocurrency trading are subject to tax, these technologies’ unique characteristics have made constructing an effective enforcement regime difficult.
